ABOUT SOUTH WEST HOUSE
Where the Indian Ocean meets serious wine country, South West House is your contemporary base to step into the simple pleasures of an Australian coastal holiday. Visit one white sandy bay after another, wander between cellar doors, catch a wave, melt into a Heartwood treatment, or settle into all day dining at Aaron Carr's Il Fuoco.
Rooms and Suites balance bold architecture with warm cork flooring, walnut joinery and natural stone, softened further by a native outlook and coastal light spilling in. Well-made beds from Australian makers and extra-large pillows and doonas for comfort. Art and objects chosen room by room, and a minibar stocked with local wine and beer, plus something salty and sweet to go with it. Local coffee, fluffy robes and amenities by Heartwood.
At ground level, a generous lobby draws guests past the Il Fuoco bar and open fireplace through to the restaurant, where you're invited to enjoy all day dining from celebrated local chef, Aaron Carr. A central courtyard brings together native planting, alfresco dining and a place to rest under the existing Peppy trees. Across the courtyard, the 70m² multi-purpose space hosts movement, dinners and gatherings... and then there is Heartwood, sitting peacefully to the west of the lobby away from the bustle.
