Heartwood To Open Second Location at South West House, Dunsborough

After establishing itself as one of WA’s most distinctive wellbeing destinations in Cottesloe, Heartwood has announced it will open its second location inside South West House in Dunsborough, Western Australia’s highly anticipated lifestyle hotel development.

Set to open in December 2026, Heartwood Dunsborough will become the official wellness partner of South West House, allowing the community to experience the brand through scent, ritual, retail and product integration across the property.

Located between Dunsborough town centre and Geographe Bay, South West House is a 54-room independent lifestyle hotel centred around design, locality and culture, now with its wellness and restaurant partners secured in Heartwood and Aaron Carr respectively.

For Heartwood founder Alex Wilson, the move represents more than expansion.

“People have been telling us for years that we needed to go down south, but it was important that it felt right,” said Wilson.

“With a strong following, a great culture and our inimitable sandalwood product range behind us, we now feel ready to bring the Heartwood experience to the South West, in a location that feels completely right,” said Wilson.

Deeply connected to the region through family and decades spent in the area, Wilson says the Dunsborough location will be shaped by a strong sense of individuality, connection and community.

“We’ve never really looked sideways at what everyone else is doing,” Wilson said.

“We dance to the beat of our own drum and that’s allowed us to create treatments and experiences that genuinely feel unique. We want people to walk into Heartwood and feel an immediate sense of place, warmth and groundedness.”

The new location will also bring together local talent and collaborators connected to the region, including Architect Nick Derickx.

With design and construction already underway, Heartwood says the next phase will involve quietly building a team aligned with its culture and long-term vision.

Heartwood Dunsborough is expected to open alongside South West House in December 2026.
